Sine Liwanag was built on the belief that film criticism is not the exclusive domain of established media or academic institutions. We want to hear from young writers — whether you're submitting your first review or your hundredth.
We publish reviews, essays, lists, and festival coverage of Philippine and world cinema. We also welcome pitches for original formats.

What we're looking for
Original perspective — not a synopsis or a plot summary. What do you think? What did you feel? What did the film make you see?
Philippine and world cinema — we cover films from across the globe, with a particular interest in Philippine cinema and Southeast Asian film.
Any experience level — we welcome first-time writers. Passion and a genuine point of view matter more than credentials.
Any format — reviews (300–800 words), essays (800–2,000+ words), lists, festival dispatches, interviews.
